CAMPAIGN TO END THE
DEATH PENALTY
The “Campaign to End the Death Penalty” is a national grassroots organization dedicated to the abolition of capital punishment. We have chapters in cities and campuses across the United states.
To win abolition we need to build a grassroots struggle. There is no short cut solution. The fact is that we need more chapters and more activists involved in order to win.
We can not do this ourselves. Without you, we only have half a chance. the courts have turned their backs on us. It’s up to people to force them to listen to us.
Those who have experienced the horrors of death row firsthand- death row prisoners themselves and their family members- should be at the forefront of our movement. Their experiences help to shape our strategies.
We have many challenges ahead in the campaign for abolition. Over 3,300 prisoners remaining on death row, and the majority of states have active death penalty laws. Despite these obstacles, the “Campaign to End the Death Penalty” is growing and the abolitionist movement is stronger than it has been for years. Executions are steadily declining and since the late 1990’s the number of death sentences handed down by juries have been cut in half.
This chapter, “Greater Los Angeles Chapter”, is dedicated to carry out the fight of the national branch and incorporated chapters across the country. We will like you to join our branch and struggle. We have regular scheduled meetings and plan our own events and participating in national campaign events.
The “Greater Los Angeles Chapter” is chaired by C. J. Ford Jr. who is a licensed private investigator who actively works on Wrongfully Convicted Cases. The “For the Innocence Resolutions” division of C. J. Ford Private Investigations works exclusively on overturning wrongful convictions, and the “C. J. Ford Justice Foundation, a non profit organization, works on fundraiser, donations, grants, and other support to help the wrongfully accused and families with support services.
